Title: IT firm targets wellness centers and law firms as new markets for
their products.
Date: Sept 9, 2007
Philippine IT firm Quorus Concepts and Designs is eyeing the spa &
wellness industry,
as well as, law firms as potential clients for their SMS applications that
market
products and push information to consumers.
“The spa industry is a new niche for software firms like us as well as law
firms that require legal billing systems,” according to Mr. Cedric
Duyongco, CEO of Quorus Concepts.
The company is behind the technology q-Mobile Server, an SMS enabling
software. To date, their SMS applications are being used in the retail
industry, allowing consignors to track sales and inventory on the store
front without the need for sophisticated equipment.
“With the fast movement of technological gadgets and equipment, the trend
in
the software sector is to maximize the gadget to an actual solution that
will yield benefits to the clients. Software companies must go back to the
basics of software development and understand the needs of their clients,”
said Duyongco. “It is only when you understand their problems that you can
maximize the use of technology in business.”
This year, the q-Mobile Server won the Most Innovative Product Award in
e-Services Philippines, an annual ICT event organized by the Department of
Trade and Industry’s Center for International Trade Expositions and
Missions
(CITEM). e-Services Philippines will gather again the ICT industry players
and investors on February 11-12 next year and awards will also be given as
recognition to breakthrough technologies and solutions in the Philippines.
“The award helped us carve a niche as one of the serious players in the
Philippine software sector. This translated to an increase in our clients
who are confident with our software,” he added. “In fact, our company is
currently expanding our overseas projects.”
